"Light of the World"

I thought I would go ahead and put together a few of the things I have gathered for my March visit for those who are way ahead of me. I have not completed my handout but I did pick up some really cute goodies at Target last night and thought I would share my sweet "finds" with all of you.

To start out you can find March's message HERE

I haven't actually read through it yet and picked the quote I will use. Normally, I would do that before putting together my handout but I saw these "goodies" while browsing through Target's Dollar section last  night and could not resist!! I am thinking I will put some lemon drops in the craft bags. Attach the cute card with one of the big paper clips and then stick this in the bucket with some ribbon and rafia tied to hold the handout. I will add that as soon as I find the quote I want to use from the message so check back in so you can print that. I will then also stick two of the cute magnets to the bucket as well! LOOK at how cute they are!! I love TARGET, they have some adorable STuFf!!
Beginning in March I will also be including a treat and Recipe for my ladies. Since we are coming into Spring and the message is regarding light, I will do this AWESOME Lemon Poke Cake recipe given to me by a dear friend!!

1 Lemon Cake Mix
1 Pkg. lemon Pudding
4 eggs
1/4 C. Canola Oil
3/4 C. water

Mix and bake according to the box. While still warm, poke holes in the top with the end of a wooden spoon and drizzle icing on top.

ICING: 1 Cube melted butter
1/3 C. Lemon Juice
2 C. Powdered Sugar

YUMMY!!! This cake has melt in your mouth GOODNESS!!!

Thanks you for stopping by! Please check back in a few days for the finished product!!

Starting Over!!

Ok, so I have totally neglected this blog. I was called as the primary Chorister in my ward and have been so busy putting together a blog for my music that I have not taken the time to get this one up and running. When I first started out the plan was to just do some everyday journaling on here. I have now decided to include my visiting teaching messages and handouts along with a recipe each month. I have really come to love this calling and the ladies I serve. In the beginning it just felt like another thing to add to my to do list every month, but man was I wrong! I love these sisters and their friendship means so much to me!! One thing I really enjoy doing is putting together a cute handout to go with my message each month. We don't always get around to a lesson but I do like to take the time to pick out a quote from each VT message and at least share something about that before leaving my sisters each month.

You can find February's message HERE

To start out I like to pick out my favorite quote and find me a handout. You can find cute handouts to print by going HERE

This is the one I used for this month.
I then attached this to a hand soap from Bath and Body and Woo-Lah, there you  have it, short, sweet and FUN!!! This was my end result:

I then shared with the ladies a very special quilt that was made for me 12 years ago at the passing of my son. The relief society came into my home, gathered my son's clothing and made me a beautiful quilt that I will treasure forever!! We are indeed the Lord's hands on the earth today! I could have never made it through my loss without the love of my sisters! Not only did I feel the love of my Savior life me up, but the love of my angels on earth!!
Our Savior suffered so that he could know our pains and understand. We have our own sufferings in this life so that we can understand and help lift those in need as well!!! I am grateful for my SAVIOR Jesus Christ and for this gospel and for the knowledge and strength that I have been given. I know that as Visiting Teachers we are reaching out, loving and serving Heavenly Fathers Daughters.. I am indeed grateful to know these dear sisters and be a part of his work here on the earth today!!

I will be posting my March handout and ideas in the next few days. Stop back in and take a peek. Starting next month I would like to include a recipe and "goody" for my ladies as well! I will leave you with this message: By becoming the answer to someones PRAYER, we often find the answer to our own Dieter F. Utchdorf
